He will show us how his striking impressionist and abstract images interpret the world in a different way\, exploring colour and shape\, texture and light. He has won two major prizes in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition and will explain how he composes images in the field using in-camera multiple exposures\, combining layers from that place on that day: later using Lightroom to complete the creative process. DESCRIPTION:With over three decades in commercial architectural photography\, Nottingham based Martine will speak about her life in the industry. With her major publication about the business of architectural photography published by Routledge in 2024 and shortlisted for the 2024 Architectural Book Awards\, her evening is a mixture of ‘how to’ for those interested in shooting architecture\, plus a chronological section on her time in the industry. Technological and economic factors affecting business and output throughout that period are discussed\, together with insight into her current research\, projects and the writing of Photography for Architects. She also runs specialist workshops for the RPS\, Line and Light Photography School (www.lineandlight.co.uk)\, and lectures on the BA/MA in Photography at Nottingham Trent University so there’s a rich heritage of teaching photographers over the last decade too. Martine’s speaking style is lively and informal.
